Description

Nos 22 to 28 on Front Road is an 18th-century block that was originally two houses. It is two storeys tall with attics, constructed of red brick featuring window dressings and a stringcourse made of grey headers. The roof is half hipped and tiled, with two hipped dormers and a wide eaves cornice. The building now has seven windows, all with intact glazing bars. The ground floor windows have cambered head linings. There are two doorcases, each accessed by four steps, with flat hoods above, rectangular fanlights, and doors made of six fielded panels. The former north house has an additional modern window above the doorway. In front of these houses, the pavement is made of Bethersden marble.
