Description
The Parish Church of All Saints is a complete Early English church with some Perpendicular enlargements and fine interior fittings. It features a chancel with north and south chapels, a nave with aisles, a north porch with a parvis above, and a west tower topped with a broached spire, which was re-shingled in 1954. The nave and tower date from the 13th century, while the chapels and aisles are from the 15th century. The two-storeyed north porch is from the 14th century, and the chancel, originally from the 13th century, was remodeled in the 1840s. The church has a four-bay nave with a crownpost roof, a double piscina, and triple sedilia. There is an early 13th-century font, and the church was restored by Ferrey in 1858. The east window was created by Kempe in 1895. The churchyard contains some 18th-century headstones featuring skull, cherub, or hourglass motifs, as well as some oval bodystones.
