Description

Newgate is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with cladding added in the 18th century. It features a timber frame that is rendered, with the first floor being tile hung. The roof is plain tiled and has two storeys set on a plinth, topped by a tall hipped roof with gablets. There are stacks projecting at both the left and right ends of the roof. The first floor has two wooden casements with two lights each, while the ground floor has two wooden casements with three lights each. The entrance is a central half-glazed and boarded door, which is sheltered by a flat hood supported on brackets.
