Description

The Thatched House is a 15th-century, two-bay hall house located on Cage Lane, Smarden. It is a timber-framed building with plaster infilling, featuring curved bracing on the first floor. The house has two storeys and a hipped thatched roof. It retains four casement windows with diamond-shaped or small square leaded panes. This is a well-restored example of a late medieval hall-house.
