Description
A group of four chest tombs, two barrel tombs, and a headstone is located about 5 metres south-west of the Church of St. Mary. All these tombs date from the mid to late 18th century. Three of the chest tombs are plain, featuring simple incised panels and plain corner piers, all topped with moulded marble slabs. The fourth chest tomb, dedicated to Elizabeth Williamson, has reeded corner piers and fielded panels with cut-away corners. There is a pair of illegible headstones alongside the barrel tombs, one of which is longer than the other. The headstone for Henry Dunk stands about 2 feet high and has scrolled shoulders leading to a double segmental cornice, supported by a central pilaster, and is adorned with a cherub's head and trophies.
