Description
The boundary and garden walls to the north and west of Church House, including a gateway, date from the 18th century and around 1801. They are constructed of red brick and ragstone. The boundary wall on the west side, which faces the road, is made of ragstone with a brick upper section and is about 8 feet high and 30 yards long. It turns in at the north end to form a gateway, featuring capped piers and a diagonally boarded pedestrian door to the right. To the north, there is a ragstone wall that is about 5 feet high and 50 yards long, which returns east. A secondary wall extends east from the southern gate piers, made of red brick, leading to a second gateway to the garden. This wall has capped piers and ramps up to about 12 feet high before joining the rear wing of Church House.
