Description

This sundial, located about 10 metres south of the Church of St. Mary, dates from the early 19th century. It features a bronze dial plate mounted on a simple wooden post that has a double waisted shape in the centre. The sundial is dated 1825, with additional inscriptions from 1907 and 1936. The post is adorned with a scrolled pointer that is supported by two arched metal braces. The inscriptions on the post read O.W. 1825, EA 1901, and JM 1936, which likely refer to churchwardens at the time the wooden post was replaced.
