Description

Ripple Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries, with a porch dated 1634 and a 19th-century cladding. It is timber framed and faced with red brick and tile hanging, with a plain tile roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high and sits on a plinth. It has a hipped roof with a gablet to the right and a gable to the left, featuring a projecting end stack. There are two 19th-century stacks to the right. It has four metal casement windows on each floor, and a 19th-century four-panelled door within a porch with a kneelered parapet gable. On the right side, the first floor has a jetty with fascia over the beam ends. The left side displays English bond brickwork, featuring two double cornices and one brick mullioned window. A plaque on the porch is dated 1634, bearing the initials R.G.E.
