Description
7A and 7 Canterbury Road are estate cottages built in 1833, as indicated by a date plaque over the door, attributed to Edward Knight, with mid-19th century additions to the right. The cottages are constructed of red brick and feature a plain tile roof. They are two storeys high and have a dogtooth cornice on the hipped roof, with chimney stacks positioned to the left, center, and at the right end. The front has a regular arrangement of four windows, including three glazing bar sashes with gauged heads, and in the right end bay, there are later 19th century coupled sashes on the first floor. On the ground floor, there are two glazing bar sashes and one coupled sash to the right. A one-storey porch with a kneelered gable is located at the center left, featuring a six-panelled door and a rectangular fan light above.
