Description
Temple Cottage is an 18th-century house located on the west side of Canterbury Road in Godmersham. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof and features two storeys on a plinth. The hipped roof is topped with a large central chimney stack. On the first floor, there are three wooden casement windows set in segment-headed openings. The ground floor has two segment-headed casement windows with shutters, positioned on either side of a central door. This door has six fielded panels and is adorned with a semi-circular fan light above it, all set within a panelled semi-circular doorway that is topped with an open triangular pediment supported by consoles. The 18th-century doorway was brought to this location in 1951.
