Description

Bethersden War Memorial is made of granite and features a Latin cross that rises from a slightly tapered octagonal shaft. The base of the shaft is a square block with chamfered upper edges, which sits on a plinth topped with a capstone.

The plinth has two square panels embedded into the churchyard wall, positioned at angles to the plinth. The front face of the plinth is inscribed with black painted lead lettering that reads: 1914 IN MEMORY OF 1919 / (NAMES) / THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE, with four additional names on the left side of the plinth.

The central part of the base is inclined and flanked by square blocks, with an inscription on the base that reads: 1939 – 1945 / (NAMES).
