Description
The Church of St Mary, located on the northeast side of The Street in Kennington, is primarily a 15th-century structure built of stone rubble. It features a crenellated west tower that is divided into three stages, complete with buttresses and gargoyles. The church has a southwest porch and a four-bay nave that includes a crown post roof, which is supported by moulded tie beams with shield spandrels. There is a chancel arch, along with a chapel and part of an aisle to the south. The north side of the church has two double lancet windows with cinquefoil heads. Temple House is part of the group that includes St Mary's Church and its churchyard.
