Description
This is a fragment of a medieval building associated with Court Lodge Farm. It appears to have medieval origins. A section of north-facing flint walling with stone quoins at each end returns southwards at the east end. This original section has been incorporated into a later outbuilding, likely dating from the 18th century or earlier 19th century, as shown on a Tithe Plan from 1840. Subsequent alterations occurred in the 20th century. The later outbuilding has a plain tile hipped roof and brick walls, with the brickwork at the east end of the south elevation having been renewed in the 20th century. The rear pitch of the roof and the wall of the outbuilding along the remainder of the south elevation were demolished in the 20th century during an extension, replaced with a shallower pitched roof and concrete block walls. The building is listed primarily because of the section of north and east facing flint walling with stone quoins.
