Description

Bere Farmhouse is a 17th-century house with 18th and 20th-century extensions. It is constructed of brickwork in English bond, featuring a high plinth and cambered openings; some sections display English Garden Wall bond with a first-floor band. The roof is tiled. The house consists of a large rectangular main block, an 18th-century wing at the north-east corner, and a 20th-century wing at the south-west side. These are linked by a tall, narrow crossing that was originally a staircase tower. The east front elevation is two storeys and attic in height, with a façade of four and a half windows. It has casement windows, including some early 19th-century cast-iron upper lights, and one large early 19th-century ground-floor sash window. A 20th-century gabled brick porch has been added.
