Description
Winchester Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge located in East Stratton, Hampshire. The building is constructed of brick, with a stucco finish and a slated roof. The front of the lodge is a single storey and features a wide single bay with a central portico supported by four Doric columns and topped with a pediment. Below the portico is a tripartite top-glazed door, flanked by corner pilasters. The lodge also includes an entablature, parapet, and coping, with a rendered ridge stack positioned at the center of the roof. Built around 1805, it occupies the site of a lodge proposed by Humphry Repton in his unimplemented Red Book for Stratton Park from 1803, although Winchester Lodge is simpler in style.
