Description
West Hoe Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, featuring a timber frame with 18th-century cladding and a mid-19th-century extension. The walls are constructed of brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers, a first-floor band, cambered openings, and a cement plinth. The 19th-century extension is made of brickwork in English bond. The timber frame is exposed on the east and north walls, with brick infill. The roof is hipped and half-hipped, covered in tiles, with a catslide at the rear. The building has a rectangular shape, with a crosswing at the west end that extends at the rear, creating an L-shape. The south front elevation has two storeys and features four windows. The windows are casements, and there is a boarded door set within an architrave, topped with a moulded hood supported by carved brackets. Another door of a similar but simpler design is also present. On the west side, there is 19th-century cast-iron machinery from a well-pump.
