Description

Nos. 7 and 9, St Peter Street are a pair of early 19th century houses, built in 1833. They are three storeys high with a basement. The walls are of brick with a stuccoed ground floor. A stucco cornice and parapet run along the top of the building. Each house has one bay projecting forward by 4 1/2 inches. Each house features two sash windows and a single door recessed in the front facade. No. 7 has a well-preserved six-panel flush door, of the same period, with a rectangular fanlight lattice pattern above it. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The roof is not visible. Spear-headed iron railings are present. The houses form a group with Nos. 2 to 9 (consec.), the Royal Hotel, a garden wall, and Nos. 22 and 23.
