Description
Old Mill House is a mill house that has been converted into a private residence. It dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The building features a timber frame that is encased in and fronted by brick, topped with an old plain tile roof. The original 17th-century structure consists of three bays, while the 18th-century front is three bays wide and two bays deep, with an additional bay added to the right end.
The two-storey 18th-century front has a central six-panel door with a half-circular fanlight, set within an arched doorcase supported by Doric pilasters. This doorcase features a broken entablature and an open pediment. There are five 18th-century twelve-pane sash windows, each with rubbed brick arches above them. The building also has a string course at the first floor level, a dentilled string course above the first-floor windows, and a parapet with stone coping at the top.
