Description
Pilgrims' School, located at No. 3 The Close, is a Grade I listed building dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made over time. The structure incorporates some medieval elements, including part of the original Pilgrims' Hall. It features two storeys and an attic, along with two-storey wings. The walls are made of red brick, topped with an old tile roof and a moulded modillion cornice.
The central section of the building has five windows, and there is a central door framed by a Tuscan porch. Notable features include fine rainwater heads, and the wings have three and four windows respectively. All windows are sashes with glazing bars, and there are panelled double doors. The building also has two attic dormers and a staircase adorned with twisted balusters.
