Description

The Tower of the Old Church of St John is the western tower of a church that was demolished and replaced by a new church in 1875. Built in 1829, it features brick walls in English bond, pointed arches, and stucco hoodmoulds. The tower is a square structure with three stages, a crenellated parapet, diagonal stepped buttresses, and small openings at the top stage. The west face includes a tall window above a tall west doorway, which still has its panelled double doors, while the east side has a tall arch that is now filled.
