Description

This is a cottage, originally two dwellings, dating from the 17th and early 19th centuries. It is timber-framed with brick infill, and has flint and brick additions, all colourwashed, with a thatched roof. The original core is a 3-bay, 1½-storey 17th-century building. A bay was added to the right, and an outshot bay added to the left, where the left bay was later encased in flint. A C19 planked door with a glazed panel is located at the inner end of the left bay. A 3-light casement window sits to the right below the exposed timber frame. Other bays have irregular C19 2-light casements. A blocked door is at the inner end of the right bay. Above, four irregular C19 2-light casements are set within eyebrow dormers, with those to the left being smaller and built on a wallplate. The roof is hipped with stacks positioned above the doorways.
