Description

This sundial, located 200 meters northwest of Cranbury House, dates from 1720 and is supposedly designed by Sir Isaac Newton. It features a base and pedestal made of Portland stone, with a round single step base and a central bulbous pilaster pedestal. The bronze sundial includes intricate diagrams for calculating time accurately, as well as casts of the Conduit family, with whom Newton stayed.
