Description

The Manor and East Manor House are a house dating from the 18th century with additions from the early 19th century. The property is L-shaped, with a taller north front added in the early 19th century. The north front is regular, with two storeys and six windows, and has a hipped slate roof. The walls are of painted brick in a Flemish bond, featuring rubbed flat arches, stone sills, and a plinth. The windows are sash windows in reveals, although the two eastern bays are now filled with brick panels; a small casement window was inserted in the upper east bay around 1900. A stucco porch with a simple Greek Order includes narrow side windows, a semi-circular open front with two columns and two pilasters on four steps, an arched doorway with a radiating fanlight, and a 20th-century panelled door. The rear block dates to the 18th century and is lower, with hipped tile roofing and slate-covered outshots. The rear walls are of painted brick facing the courtyard, with roughcast render on the east elevation, featuring casement windows. A symmetrical projection on the north side of the east elevation has two windows matching the front details. Inside, there is a plain staircase dating from the early 19th century.
