Description
This is an 18th-century building located on Portersbridge Street. It is three storeys high and constructed of brick, featuring a brick dentil cornice. The roof is covered with modern tiles, hipped at the southwest end. The southwest facade has a single window bay. The southeast front, which also serves as the entrance front, has one window to the right and a panel of vitreous enamel on each floor to the left. The second floor has square sash windows. Ground and first floor sash windows are set within slightly segmental headings and lack glazing bars; all windows are framed with architraves. A central five-panel door is sheltered by a well-preserved Doric porch consisting of two columns, pilasters on the wall face, and an entablature. A two-storey extension to the northeast has a two-light casement window on the upper level. Below, there are two two-light casement windows with flat heads. This extension is topped by a red tile hipped roof with a pentice. The building occupies an important corner position where the street angles.
