Description

These are three 18th-century buildings on Church Street, forming a group with numbers 29 and 31. They have a single-span roof that is higher than the adjacent properties, featuring a tile roof with a large hip to the north and three dormers – two on number 33A, each with a two-light casement window. Numbers 33 and 33A are faced with colourwashed brick and have a toothed eaves cornice. Number 35 is built of red brick, incorporating some vitreous glazed headers.

Number 33 has two sash windows set in reveals, without glazing bars. The ground floor features two plate-glass shop fronts, canted inwards towards the central doorways, topped by a large fascia. A house door is located at the north end, consisting of four flush panels with the upper two cut away and glazed, and a stuccoed lintel above. Number 35 has a double sash window on the first floor, set within an architrave frame, with three panes to each window. It also has a wide plate-glass shop window on its west front, again with a large fascia, and a doorway set on the corner. The north side, facing Portersbridge Street, has a small shop window of a similar type, and a single sash window on the upper floor. A single-storey extension to the east has a three-light window set within a segmental arch.
