Description
No. 8 Portersbridge Street is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, around 1830. The exterior features slate-hung walls, likely made with Cornish Delabole slate, and a slate roof with tile ridges. The building has two storeys and a basement, with two bays and a parallel rear range. The rendered plinth includes a basement window on the left side. On the right, there are steps leading up to a two-panel door, which is topped by an overlight with geometric glazing bars, all framed in a wooden architrave with a bracketed canopy. To the left, there is a 16-pane sash window, and above it, two 9-pane sashes, all set in wooden surrounds. The roof has oversailing eaves and is hipped over each range, featuring a broad stack positioned transversely in the valley. On the left side, there is a 9-pane sash window on the ground floor of the front range and a 16-pane sash window on each floor of the rear range. The interior has not been inspected.
