Description
This is a boundary wall that was formerly associated with the Glebe House, located about 30 metres south of St Peter's Church in Goodworth Clatford. The wall dates from the 19th century or earlier and is constructed of chalk cob, which is rendered, sitting on a brick base. It features a pitched covering made of double Roman clay tiles, topped with a specially made clay ridge. The wall stands approximately 2.5 metres high and stretches for about 80 metres, with a curved corner that leads toward the Posthouse. Set into the wall is a Grade VI R letter box. This boundary wall is an important visual feature in the village, providing a screen for some late 20th-century buildings from the listed group of Manor Farm and the Church of St Peter.
