Description

Ash Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage located in Abbotts Ann. It is constructed of flint and brick, with a thatched roof. The cottage is one storey high with an attic, and has three windows. The roof is half-hipped, with an exposed timber frame in the upper gable, which is filled with alternating flint and brick courses. A catslide roof runs along the rear, and the eaves extend above the upper windows. The walls feature horizontal flint panels, brick quoins, brick bands, rubbed flat arches, and a cemented plinth. The windows are casements. A plain door is set within an open brick-filled porch, which has a thatched hood.
