Description

41 and 42 (Chestnut Cottage) are a pair of cottages located on Duck Street, dating from the late 18th century and recently restored. They feature painted brick walls and a thatched roof, with one storey and an attic, and two windows above four on the front. The roof has eaves that are raised above the upper windows. The walls are constructed in Flemish bond with a high cemented plinth. The cottages have casement windows, with one having a splayed oriel window on number 41. There is a boarded door in a plain frame for number 41 and a side door for number 42. Additionally, number 41 includes a single-storey extension on the north side, made of flint with a hipped thatch roof.
