Description

This is a milestone located 10 meters northeast of Brooklyn, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of painted stone and has an attached cast-iron plate. The stone is rectangular with a slightly rounded top. The front features a rectangular cast-iron plate inscribed with '10 miles TO BOTLEY, 2 TO ROMSEY'. This milestone is situated on the route of the Whiteparish, Romsey & Botley Turnpike, established in 1755.
