Description
Woodhouse Bakery is a row of small cottages, dating back to the 17th century, with subsequent alterations and additions in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The cottages have been combined into a single dwelling and now incorporate a village store and bakery. The building is two storeys high, with an additional storey and attic. Retaining some original timber-framing, the exterior is now clad in a varied mix of materials, including painted flintwork, flint with red brick quoins, flint panels, red brickwork in Flemish bond with blue headers, red brickwork to a modern addition at the west end, and cement rendering. The roof is prominent and thatched, with hipped ends and eyebrows, with the later addition having a slate roof. Windows are primarily casements, but one is a sash window. There are boarded doors set within solid frames. Inside, two substantial chimney breasts are present, attached to the older timber-framed cove.
