Description

Coles Farm Cottage is a 16th-century cottage that was refronted in the 18th century. It is timber-frame construction with original wattle and daub infill, later re-faced with painted brick. The roof is thatched. The cottage is one-and-a-half storeys and originally three bays, with a half-bay added around an end stack. The front facade features doors between the bays; the left-hand door has a segmental-headed surround and glazed panels, while the right-hand door is within a 20th-century gabled brick porch. Each bay has a three-light segmental-headed casement window, and above the centre and right bays is a two-light eyebrow dormer. There is a blank half-bay to the right. The roof is half-hipped with a stack above the right-hand door and end stacks. The timber frame is exposed at the rear.
