Description

The Rectory is a house dating from 1837. It is constructed of brick, flint, and brick, with a low-pitched slate roof. The front (west) elevation is regular, with a set-back on the north side, and is two storeys high, featuring a 1.2-window arrangement. The yellow brickwork is laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with an eaves fascia. The design includes rubbed flat arches, a first-floor band, stone cills, and a plinth. Sashes are set in reveals, with narrow side panes. The main entrance is located on the south side of the recessed part, leading to an open porch with a slate roof supported on posts. The porch has a plain fanlight above a three-panelled door, the upper panel being glazed. The symmetrical south elevation comprises five windows, some of which are French casements. Other walls incorporate narrow bands of flint (13) with red brick quoins, bands, rubbed flat arches, a plinth, stone cills, and sash windows. A lower service wing extends eastwards, matching the general style.
