Description
This is an 18th-century house located in Thruxton. It is constructed of flint and brick with a thatched roof, forming an L-shaped plan angled to the road. The front (west) elevation is of one storey and an attic, featuring four windows. It has a hipped roof with three gabled dormers and a large, tapered brick stack at the south end. The flint walls incorporate brick quoins, bands, and cambered arches, along with a plinth. The windows are casements, with a two-storey splayed bay window on the south side containing sash windows. A plain doorway is sheltered by an open thatched porch supported by posts, and features a six-panelled door. Two tall sash windows are present on the south elevation. The north gable has a flat-roofed 20th-century extension constructed of painted brickwork. A lower, early 19th-century wing, forming the rear (Gooseacre Cottage), is characterised by rendered walls and a slate roof.
