Description
Royston House and Russell House are a pair of 18th-century buildings, with mid-19th-century embellishments, located on East Street in Andover. They are symmetrical and feature three storeys with three windows across. The roofs are tiled, with the roof of No 40 being modern, and there are brick dentil eaves. The walls are painted brick in Flemish bond, accented with stucco features such as a first-floor band, eaved architraves with keystones on the first floor, and a cornice supported by brackets on the ground floor. The buildings have stone cills and a plinth. The Victorian sash windows include three with cast iron window boxes. The doorways are adorned with plain blocking courses, cornices on brackets, pilasters, fanlights, and six-panelled doors.
