Description
The stable block and carriage shed, located 10 meters east of the Old Vicarage on Cross Street, dates from the late 18th century and 19th century. It is constructed of brick with slate roofs and consists of a one-and-a-half storey, three-bay central block, a four-bay low block to the right, and a three-bay carriage shed to the left. The central block features corner pilasters and a large arched opening on the left, flanked by two 16-pane segmental head sash windows. Above each end of the central block are two small wide 8-pane sash windows. The roof is hipped and topped with a central rectangular lead-covered cupola. The right range includes a 16-pane sash window or a 19th-century door set in a 18th-century segmental head. The left range has a set of 19th-century quadruple doors, and further left are two 20th-century garage doors with windows above.
