Description

Snowdrop Cottage is a 16th-century cottage extended in the 18th century. It is located in Kings Somborne, near The Cross. The cottage has a timber-frame structure with wattle and daub infill panels, and a thatched roof. It originally comprised three bays, with an additional 18th-century timber-frame bay added to the right. The cottage is one and a half storeys high. A planked door is centrally located, and there are three-light casement windows in each of the original 16th-century bays, each sheltered by a small hood. Above the two right-hand bays of the 16th-century section are eyebrow dormers containing two-light casement windows, each with carved boards to the sides. The roof is hipped, with a ridge stack immediately to the left of the door, and another stack on the left-hand end.
