Description

Horseshoe Cottage is a cottage dating back to the 17th century, with 18th-century cladding and 20th-century extensions. It is located on Horseshoe Lane in Hurstbourne Tarrant. The south-facing front of the cottage is symmetrical, with two storeys and three windows. A westward extension of one storey and attic, with three windows, adjoins the main body of the cottage. The roof is half-hipped, with a hip at the west end, brought to a low eaves above an outshot. The main wall is of Flemish bond brickwork, featuring blue headers, with a flint plinth. Other parts of the walls are rendered. Casement windows are present. The cottage has a plain doorway with a French door, sheltered by a wide thatched canopy supported by rustic poles.
