Description

This is a farmhouse, originally dating from the late 17th century, with extensions and alterations made in the 18th, early-to-mid 19th, and mid-20th centuries. The original timber-frame structure was rebuilt in the 19th century using red brick, now colourwashed. The roof is tiled, with red brick stacks. The original three-bay farmhouse was expanded by the addition of a parallel range to the north in the 18th century, and further extended to the west. The house is generally of 1½ storeys in height. The north front features two windows on either side of a central doorway, which has a four-panel door with glazed upper panels, sheltered by an open timber porch. Three dormers are situated above, each with a painted, slate-hung gable. All windows are timber casements with glazing bars, though they are not uniform. The house has stacks positioned along the ridge and projecting from the west gable. To the west, the roof of the southern range overhangs outshots, which contain scattered 20th-century casement windows.
