Description
Moorcourt is a house that has been divided into three dwellings. It dates back to the 15th century, with an exterior from the early 18th century and restoration from the 20th century. The building features brick walls in Flemish bond, with some sections having blue headers and red brickwork elsewhere. There is a first-floor band in part, and the ground-floor openings are cambered. The roof is tiled and has a group of three diagonal flues.
The north front is two storeys high, with a symmetrical arrangement of five windows, extended westwards by one additional window, and a single-storeyed east extension with one window. The windows are sashes in exposed frames. On the west side, the ground-floor window has been filled, and above it is a 17th-century mullion and transom 8-light window. The east side features a wide late 19th-century casement window. A slender porch with a plain canopy supported by octagonal posts has side boarding and a six-panelled door, four of which are glazed.
The rear (south) side has wings on each side, with coupled gables to the west dating from the 18th century, and a coupled block to the east from the 19th century, comprising one and two storeys. Inside, the building retains the framework of a late-medieval house.
