Description
Hicks Cottage and Janes Cottage are a pair of houses of unequal size, dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. They are constructed of flint, brick, and thatch. The front, facing southwest, features two storeys and two-and-a-half windows. The roof is hipped at the west end and half-hipped at the east. The walls are made of flint with brick quoins, thin bands, and a plinth, while Janes Cottage is built of brickwork in English bond. Both houses have casement windows. Hicks Cottage has a gabled thatched hood supported by brackets and a half-glazed door, while Janes Cottage has a plain doorway with a half-glazed door. To the east, there is an old doorway that leads to a slate-roofed link unit connecting to Stanley Cottage, which has brick and flint walls.
