Description

The Village Well is a well house built in 1926 in memory of Lieutenant John Fripp. It features a timber frame on a brick wall, with brick walls at the rear and tile infill in the gable. The structure has a roof covered with old plain tiles and includes a three-bay pointed arcade along the road. At one end, there is a wide arch with an initialed keyblock. The entrance has been infilled with metal fencing, as has the arcade. The roof is gabled, and next to the entrance, there is a brick wall with two tablets commemorating John Fripp and the opening of the well.
