Description
Ye Old Malthouse is a building dating from the 17th century, with early 19th-century alterations. It has two storeys and features two windows. The roof is gabled and covered with red tiles, with low eaves on the east side and a gable at the south end. The timber frame is exposed on the north and south gables, as well as the upper part of the northern half of the west front. The walls are made of painted brickwork, which serves as infilling for the frame or as walling, and have cambered openings on the ground floor. The windows are casements, with old metal lights in a wood frame located in the 19th-century section on the south half of the west front. There is an open gabled porch with a tiled roof, which has a lead fire insurance sign above it.
