Description
Farnborough Place is a building mainly from the 18th century, located on Rectory Road in Farnborough. It has two storeys and dormers, featuring a layout of two, three, and two windows, which suggests it originally had an early central section with later wings, now forming a substantial block. The building has a steep slate roof with a flat top at the center and a large moulded and bracketed cornice that creates the eaves. The walls are painted and rendered, with a plinth. There are recent flat-roofed dormers, sash windows set in reveals, and round arches on either side of the entrance. The entrance is framed by a Tuscan doorcase that encloses a round-headed doorway with a fanlight.
The rear (east) elevation is similar to the front but lacks an entrance. On the north side, there is a single-storey wing that is in a similar style but has been somewhat altered.
This site was formerly known as Farnborough Park and is associated with the medieval manor and the adjoining church.
