Description
Court Farm House is a manor house dating from around 1700. It is constructed of brick with stone window dressings and has a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high and features a three-by-three bay layout, with a projecting central pediment at the front. The front includes a central bay that projects and has three 15th-century style two-light trefoiled windows, each with a trefoil above. The central window is now framed by a 19th-century kneelered gabled brick porch with a round-headed archway, above a blind opening with a stone sill and lintel. On either side, there are stone two-light mullioned windows. The pediment has a moulded brick architrave and a lunette window made of moulded brick. The other bays contain stone three-light mullioned windows on each floor, with a hood mould on the ground floor. The eaves are moulded brick and sit well below the level of the pediment. The roof is hipped all around with a central well, featuring stacks on either side of the centre and smaller stacks on the side faces of the roof. The interior is of interest, showcasing many 17th and 18th-century features. The building is believed to incorporate elements from a 14th-century manor court, and the 15th-century windows likely originated from a church.
