Description
Bumblebee Cottage, originally part of The Cottage, is a cottage with an addition that has now become a separate dwelling. It dates from the 18th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of rendered brick and features a plain tile roof. It is 1½ storeys high and has two bays, with a lower wing at one end that runs back, now functioning as a separate cottage.
The front of the building has a slightly projecting wing on the right-hand side, which contains a central six-panel door flanked by casement windows, all sheltered by a long pent-hood. The main section features a central plank door with an inserted light, with a three-light casement window on either side, also under a long pent-hood. Above each bay, there are hipped dormers with either two or three lights. A 20th-century two-light casement window is located in the gable. There are end stacks, with the right-hand stack being external, and a link ridge to the wing in front of it. The cottage is included for its group value.
