Description
The Bird Cage is a late 17th century to early 18th century house located on the west side of Quay Street. It features a stuccoed facade and a steeply pitched tiled roof with large coped gable ends. There is a band at the first floor height, and the building has two storeys with dormers. It has two unbarred sash windows and an interesting 19th century shop front that includes carved heads of glazing bars, which are intact. There is also an additional ground floor window with modern glazing. The Bird Cage, along with Nos 1 to 6 (consecutive) and Quay Stores, forms a group with a band of paving on the east side of Quay Street.
