Description
Saxted House is a mid-18th century brick house located on Tower Street in Emsworth. It features a symmetrical front with two storeys and an attic, comprising five windows. The roof is slate and includes two hipped dormers. The building is adorned with a moulded eaves cornice and is constructed using blue header brick with red flush dressings. Notable architectural details include quoins, openings set within vertical panels, rubbed flat arches, a moulded first-floor band, and a plinth. The windows are sashes set in exposed frames. The entrance is marked by a Doric doorcase with an open pediment and a broken cornice above a frieze that has oval decoration on a reeded background. It features three-quarter plain columns, an arched opening with a Gothic fanlight, and a six-panelled door.
