Description

The following buildings shall be added to the list;

SU 75 SW ODIHAM FARNHAM ROAD 8/80 (north side, off) Barn at Hatchwood Farm to south east of Farmhouse

GV II

Barn. Late C17 with early C18 addition, or early C18 with mid C18 addition (this is dated 1710 or 1740), incorporating earlier timbers, later alterations. Red brick in flemish bond with internal timber frame; plain tile roof. 3, 1 bays, the right bay added, with rear aisle. Opposing cart entries to original central bay, that at front in midstray having hipped roof with gablet. Decorative pattern of vents, with hexagonal vents set above and below slit vents to front wall, and cross vents and gable bird-hole to rear and returns. Right return has large numerals in grey headers depicting date. Later outshut addition to front right; aisle to rear right bays removed and C20 brez-block wall replacement. Interior: jowelled wall-posts braced to tie-beams and wall plates; collared queen-strut roof trusses, having principal rafters reducing in scantling above collar, clasped purlins; halved, pegged, rafters with carpenters' numerals, arched wind braces. The timbers are reused from a timber-framed barn with wattle and daub infill, probably of the C16.
