Description
South Lodge is a 17th-century and mid-19th century two-storey timber-framed house that features picturesque alterations. It has a red tiled roof that is half-hipped at the east end and gabled at the west, with remains of an old stack. The frame is exposed at the front (south) and the west end in the upper walling, with brick nogging; the rest of the building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond. The house has casement windows, including one ground-floor bay with a tiled roof. A central tall porch features a four-centred arch and a decorative timber-framed superstructure with curved bargeboards. There is another porch made of brickwork, which has a half-timber framed gable and bargeboards, along with later outshots.
